The TreadClimber® machine is a unique breakthrough in the fitness industry. It combines the actions of the three most effective cardio machines into one:

  1. TREADMILL: Splitting the treadle into two separate belts, the TreadClimber® machine delivers the walking, jogging and running action of a treadmill—and goes a step further. In addition to your legs and glutes, it engages the core muscles that help maintain your balance.
  2. STAIR CLIMBER: The pumping action of the separate treadles replicates the highly effective aerobic exertion of stepping.
  3. ELLIPTICAL: As the TreadClimber® machine's treadles rise to meet your stride, the impact on your joints is reduced, so you enjoy the same smooth, ergonomic motion of the best elliptical machines.

The efficient and easy TreadClimber® machine gives you the ultimate cardio workout—and all you do is WALK™.

I bought this Tread Climber for my wife and I to lose weight and improve overall health. We have had been using it for 2 weeks and I'm already seeing results. With a better diet and using the Tread Climber for 30 minutes a day 4 days a week, I have lost 7 of the 20 pounds I need to lose. I'm looking forward to the next doctor visit to see if my blood pressure and resting heart rate has come down any.

It's not an easy workout (for me). I guess workouts should never be easy. I do feel like I'm working more with this that I ever had on a treadmill or eliptical machine. It does feel like you are walking up a steep hill waist deep in mud. You get a good sweat going quickly.

The controls are difficult to use. There are only 5 buttons on the console. It's very difficult to set the goals for my wife and I. It would be nice if it could automate some intervals instead of manually having to adjust the speed up or down.

Bought it for my girlfriend and myself. Good workout but come on bowfkex ..... The heart rate monitor is lame. It should be able to connect to a smart phone or device and save pace, distance etc to any of the workout apps out there. For that matter bowfkex should have their own app for it. Very disappointing for an industry leader like Bowflex.

The TC20 is a starter machine in my opinion. It has motivated me to get back into shape. I suggest getting used to the Tc20 and then purchasing the M5 max trainer, then you will truly feel the burn..

I use it when it's raining outside and as winter is coming on I'll use it when it;s to cold out. I'm 64 and bad legs and use vit to try to keep in as good shape as I can. It's a great workout. Easy to use. It takes up some space in our bedroom but the foot space isn't so much as systems are. I had to put it in the bedroom because I'm 6 foot 5 inches and that is about the only place that I have the headroom. It's a little bit noisey but not bad.

I have been using it for a week and it is what I expected. I would like the ability to lock the incline as an option. I need to keep my walking pace up to keep the deck from bottoming out.

Tried a friend's prior to purchasing because I gave my treadmill to my son. Thought it was an interesting workout. Apparently, she needs to replace her struts because it was deceptively easy. But it's a good workout and a challenge.

                          Comments about Bowflex TreadClimber TC20:

Had it since the weekend. Put it together in about two hours, but I'm an engineer so that might not be typical... It comes in four HUGE boxes. My neighbors probably thought we were moving or something.. In places, the assembly instructions could be more clear, especially with regard to routing the I/O cable: you are left to figure out a few things for yourself; this includes bolting the lower frame to the treadles and the side guards to the treadles: in both cases, it's far easier to tilt the machine on it's side or up onto the rear wheels. Anyway, the assembly instructions could stand more testing. The machine itself seems nice -and very heavy (300lbs). The display is fairly simplistic and low-tech for a $3K+ machine in 2014, though. The heart monitor makes up for some of that and is a nice feature. The pistons seem to bottom out even on lower settings if you are not careful to keep your stride smooth, and also to not step forward of them while walking. This seems like a weak point, as does the thinness of the belts, but time will tell on those two points. I fully expect both to wear out in a year or two. As for the workout, 15 minutes on level 2 is at least as hard as 30 minutes on level 10 on the commercial grade elliptical machine at my gym. Nice to be able to get more done in less time, and dedicate my morning gym time to resistance training. A bit noisy, but my house is far quieter than my gym, so not a good comparison. Just turn the TV up a notch. If you have pets, look under the treadles before you get on! they seem to like it under there. In all, I'm not sure you can find anything better for the price (new), but it's not without room for some improvement.

I debated on getting this product for over a year. I did not want to be the person that bought an expensive exercise unit and used it as a clothes hanger. The free shipping and coupon offer helped me decide to just do it as this machine doesn't really go on sale and the coupon paid for my installation basically. I am happy to say I have used it for the last 3 days and so far so good. I would highly encourage people to pay the extra cash to get it assembled. The gentleman that came to my home was very nice. I noticed it took him over an hour and a half and he has built many!! Looked very complicated.

I am relieved that I can do this without pain or knees crunching. Trust me when I say it is a work out. I admittedly am out of shape but this thing is a leg burner for sure I can not do it without holding on with my hands. I can easily walk fast on a treadmill for 30 minutes no hands. So far so good! I know as long as I stick to it this machine is money well spent.

Much heavier than I expected can't move it myself need 2 people for sure. My finished basement is where I chose to set this up so I can watch the Tv while I do it. My ceiling isn't very high down there and I am 5'8 so I feel like I only have about a 8 inches between my head and the ceiling when I am at the highest walking point. Should be fine no problem unless you are really tall. Lastly the screen is simple but has all you need. Quick, easy start and time ticks and calories count as you move. Simple and effective. I do not need to walk in the Alps I have a television to entertain me. Very Satisfied.

I have only had for two weeks but can tell if I do my part it is really going to help me. I'm in horrible shape, have really let myself go to the point of it being very hard to excercise. I can only walk about 100 feet and then have to sit and rest. I have been using this product one to times a day. I walk for 45 seconds rest 15 seconds and repeat. Started at two minutes at 45 sec, rest 15 and repeat for a few days and then increased every day a minute. Now up to 5 minutes and plan on increasing every few days another minute. Yes my muscles are very sore the next day but I would expect that. My back does not hurt while walking and on a plain treadmill my back hurts while walking. I truly believe this is going to greatly increase my stamina and help my legs and muscles to become strong. You have to decide what is important in life and if health and well being is high on your priortiy list then you should try this machine.BT

I use my Tread Climber 4-5 times a week. I find it very easy to use and am motivated to use it knowing I won't have pain in my knees and hips when I am finished as I used to after running. I have had one major issue. The motor would cut out in the middle of work out. I have worked with customer service to correct this. I think we have made progress corrcting the issue.

I found the directions very easy to use and only needed 3 tools. Very proud of myself! I broke my ankle in February and wanted to get off some excess weight. This will take care of it! Working up to 30 minutes but I can do it!

Does the machine fold up for better storage, do any of the models? I have limited space available to store a machine, but could put it out of the way when not in use if it folds up.

Hi Albert! No, I'm sorry, but while you can do the stair-stepper action without the belts moving on the TC20, you cannot do the belt motion without the treadles moving up and down. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

I know you say on your product description that it is 55'' or so and I'm wondering if I will fit and if you knew what the height of the treadles are from the ground? Thanks for your time.

I have knee problems. I have been advised that I should not run or do stairs (steps) as work out options due to the force of impact on my knees and the "grinding" between my patella and femur that is created from doing steps. I am able to walk and do treadmills with gentle inclines. Is the TreadClimber's incline/stepping motion gentle like a treadmill or is it more like climbing stairs?

                                      A:

Due to the up and down stepping motion of the treadles, I would liken using the the TreadClimber TC20 more to climbing low stairs than walking a gentle incline. We highly recommend that you check with your doctor regarding your particular exercise needs. The TC20 TreadClimber is a very popular machine, largely because it is designed to be very low impact. However, your experience is subjective, so we cannot determine whether or not the machine would be right for you. We highly recommend seeking professional assistance before making any decisions regarding a purchase.
