The TreadClimber® machine is a unique breakthrough in the fitness industry. It combines the actions of the three most effective cardio machines into one:

  1. TREADMILL: Splitting the treadle into two separate belts, the TreadClimber® machine delivers the walking, jogging and running action of a treadmill—and goes a step further. In addition to your legs and glutes, it engages the core muscles that help maintain your balance.
  2. STAIR CLIMBER: The pumping action of the separate treadles replicates the highly effective aerobic exertion of stepping.
  3. ELLIPTICAL: As the TreadClimber® machine's treadles rise to meet your stride, the impact on your joints is reduced, so you enjoy the same smooth, ergonomic motion of the best elliptical machines.

The efficient and easy TreadClimber® machine gives you the ultimate cardio workout—and all you do is WALK™.

I bought this Tread Climber for my wife and I to lose weight and improve overall health. We have had been using it for 2 weeks and I'm already seeing results. With a better diet and using the Tread Climber for 30 minutes a day 4 days a week, I have lost 7 of the 20 pounds I need to lose. I'm looking forward to the next doctor visit to see if my blood pressure and resting heart rate has come down any.

It's not an easy workout (for me). I guess workouts should never be easy. I do feel like I'm working more with this that I ever had on a treadmill or eliptical machine. It does feel like you are walking up a steep hill waist deep in mud. You get a good sweat going quickly.

The controls are difficult to use. There are only 5 buttons on the console. It's very difficult to set the goals for my wife and I. It would be nice if it could automate some intervals instead of manually having to adjust the speed up or down.

Bought it for my girlfriend and myself. Good workout but come on bowfkex ..... The heart rate monitor is lame. It should be able to connect to a smart phone or device and save pace, distance etc to any of the workout apps out there. For that matter bowfkex should have their own app for it. Very disappointing for an industry leader like Bowflex.

      Comments about Bowflex TreadClimber TC20:

You definitely get a great workout with this machine with a low impact feel. My knees and ankles don't hurt when I'm finished. My one complaint is that the shocks don't hold the 300lb capacity that the unit claims. I bottom out the machine if I walk upright at the top of the treads.

        Comments about Bowflex TreadClimber TC20:

I use to be an avid running, but a foot problem has decreased my running capabilities. I am unable to walk on a treadmill without my foot hurting after 10 minutes, and I can't do elliptical or the stair climber without my feet falling asleep, BUT.....I have not had any of these problems while using the Tread Climber. I have been able to walk for a full 30 minutes, with no problems at all and when I'm done, I'm as exhausted as I would have been if I had been running.

I love the fact that I can do it whenever I want I don't have to schedule an apt . Figure out when I will have the time to get to the gym and get home before 7pm.

Hi Bobby! To use the heart rate monitor, you'll want to strap it to your chest under your T-shirt with the transmitter centered over your heart. If it's being used by a female, she'll want to center the transmitter just below the bra-line. To ensure a strong signal, make sure the back of the transmitter is slightly moist.

                                    A:

All of our Bowflex TreadClimber models are low impact machines. The motorized models, such as the TC10 and TC20, could be considered "easier" because the built in motor helps turn the walking belts, but that would not necessarily impact how the machine affects your joints. We highly recommend that you check with your doctor regarding your particular exercise needs. The Bowflex TreadClimers are very popular machines, largely because they are designed to be very low impact. However, your experience is subjective, so we cannot determine whether or not the machine would be right for you. We highly recommend seeking professional assistance before making any decisions regarding a purchase.

Hi Sandie! The TC10 and TC20 will both give you an incredible workout. The main difference, between the TC10 and TC20 are what computer functions are available and the size of the machine itself. If you are a bit on the taller side (6 feet +) or taller, you'll be more comfortable on the TC20 because the walking surface is slightly longer to accommodate a longer stride length.

Is there someplace where a person could try out one of these machines before actually buying one. It is tough to make a $3000.00 decision sight unseen.

However, we do offer a digital information kit, which shows the machine in action and provides a better idea on how it works. The link to the info kit is below:
